Can I pay by Western Union money order?

Sorry, at present we cannot accept this payment method. Within the UK, banks charge for these to be paid into accounts.

 

What can I do if you don’t have the currency that I use in my country?

As we use PayPal to process all of our online payments, we can accept orders from anywhere in the world. However, if you a are a customer from outside of the United Kingdom, we do ask that you contact us before placing an order, as shipping charges may differ deepening on your location. Why is your credit card payment system set up the way it is?

Our credit card payment system is operated through PayPal. Postage / Shipping

 

Can you send my goods to me by sea/air etc?

At present we send overseas goods by Airmail through the Royal Mail. We can send by sea if you request it, but the shipping prices may vary.

 

How do you package your goods up for delivery? Are they packaged securely?

All of our items are packaged very securely. When we send out liquids we always make sure that the packaging is secure and that if the rare event of a spillage should occur the absorbent material around the packaging will take care of any mess. When we send out any glassware items we also make sure that we parcel them up in soft packaging and with plenty of fragile warnings labels. Basically, we take every precaution we can when sending out our goods to make sure that you get it all in one piece at your end. If the unfortunate and rare event of something happening in transit, please contact us on receipt of your item.

 

How long does it take for your items to be delivered?

When an item is purchased, it is usually dispatched within 24 hours. Once dispatched, the item is usually received by our customers within a day or two. With airmail they can take a minimum of 2 days. If you have not received your goods, please inform us and we will get in touch with Royal Mail or our couriers to check up on this. It is rare that goods do not turn up and go astray, but if it ever does happen we have to allow a maximum of 14 days before a trace can be put on.

 

 

 

 

Products

 

Can you order in products for me?

Yes, we can order in requested products that we do not usually stock. Let us know your requirements and we will try our best. As you can understand, we cannot always guarantee 100% to be able to get all requested products.

 

Can I order a sample of a particular item?

If you would like to order samples of any of our products, we do charge a very small fee depending on the item. However, if you would like to place an order for that particular item after receiving the sample, we will discount the sample fee from the actual item price, so basically you do get the sample for free. Just think of it as a deposit.

 

Can I use the dyes in your fluorescent dye starter kits in food grade materials?

These dyes are not food grade so cannot be used in any food or drink materials for consumption. Other than that, people have bought these dyes for use in textile dyeing, dye lasers, water tracing, theatrical effects and many other uses.

 

Do you supply a catalogue?

We do not currently have a standard catalogue, but we do have a small brochure and a price list that you may request at any time. The brochure and price list basically show our product ranges, all of their items and their prices. If you would like to request these, please follow this link. If I need an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for a Scuddlebutt3 product, what can I do?

We have MSDS’s available for all of our chemical products and if you need one we will be happy to send one to you with your product or via email. For some of our goods, MSDS's are sent out with them anyway. Please see our MSDS request service.

 

What can I do if you don’t have the items I’m looking for?

Get in touch and ask. We are putting new lines on all the time and will often find things you want. sometimes we make these into stock items afterwards. As you will see a few points above, we frequently order in requested goods.

 

What can I do if I need larger quantities of a specific product?

Get in touch with and let us know your requirement and we will quote you a price. A lot of the time this works out very well for a lot of our customers, as quite large savings can be made.

 

What can I do if I need more advanced/technical information about a product?

This can always be arranged. We can always give technical advice and we have a chartered chemist on hand to help to give additional information, if required. Just contact us and a reply will normally be given within 24 hours.

 

What can I do if your starter kits do not contain every item that I want? Can I mix and match?

Our starter kits are discounted quite heavily when compared to the actual prices of the individual items in the kit. For this reason, we cannot tailor the kits unless you buy ten or more. On the other hand, if you let us know what you would have liked and we agree with you, maybe we’ll update the kit.

Can you become my main supplier?

Yes, if you’d like us to. All you need to do is just inform us and we will keep you notified of any special offers and new products etc.

 

Can you give me any information on how to use your products?

If you would like some information on how to use any of our products, please contact us, as we will always be happy to help you. We can also supply a number of small leaflets and booklets e.g. preparing simple microscope slides, staining specimens etc, and culturing microorganisms etc. These booklets can be sent out free with any purchase.

 

Do you supply a catalogue?

Please see products section above for more information about catalogues.

 

How can I keep up to date with the introduction of new lines and products?

Everytime we add a new product to the website, we will announce this under the announcements section of our home page.

 

If I have a problem with one of my purchases from you, can I send it back?

If you ever have a problem with any items, such as faulty goods or damaged in transit please contact us and we will do what we can to resolve the problem. However, if is recommended that you read our terms and conditions and returns policy before you do decide to send an item back to us.

 

 

 

 

Website

 

Is there some way you can make the text size on your website a bit bigger for me?

Unfortunately, we cannot increase the text size on the website, but you can change it on your own computers. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, all you need to do is, click on the View button at the top of your browser screen and then click on Text Size. Just adjust the setting to your desired text size. If you have any other problems with viewing website content, please contact us, as we will always be happy to help.

 

What can I do if I can't view some of the content on your site?

Rarely the only content people sometimes have a problem with are interactive buttons/applets. Over the years we have gradually stopped using such features, as we believe that the site should be as basic and simple to view as possible. However, if you do experience any other problems on the website, please inform us and we will do our utmost to fix them ASAP. Informing us of any problems you encounter will be greatly appreciated and will only help us to better the website.
