Microscope Slide Mountant
Microscope slide mountant is used to permanently seal a coverslip onto a microscope slide. Effectively, it is a very high clarity glue. Scuddlebutt3 offers a water based PVA mountant (based on Lubkin & Carsten's classic formula), which is safer than conventional xylene or toluene based mountants and avoids the need for processing in alcohol and xylene. Scuddlebutt water based mountant is particularly appropriate when studying fatty structures. The mountant dries hard and does not require ringing. It can also be used as a cryogenic embedding medium. The photograph above shows a 22x50mm coverslip mounted onto a slide using scuddlebutt3 water based mountant.
